Review: Stila Merry & Bright Palette

Hello everyone! Today I'm going to review the Stila Merry & Bright Palette. I've bought this palette about months ago and I did include it in my Collective Haul. So let's get started.

£12.50 or RM59 ( It was on sale for £5 or RM23++)

Stila Merry & Bright Palette comes with 6 beautiful neutral eyeshadows and a Stila Convertible Color in Lillium. The set also comes with a Stila Lip Glaze in Kitten. I'm not sure if it's a mini size but it is quite a good size. I actually bought this set because of the Lip Glaze. I'm going to do a separate review for the Lip Glaze because it deserves one. The eye shadows weigh about 0.26 oz or 7.5 g in total while the Convertible Color weighs about 0.08 oz or 2.2 g. That's a pretty good amount of product. The palette is a cardboard based palette with magnetic closure. It is also really small (about the size of my palm) and thin so it's really good for travelling. Now, the thing that I don't really like about this palette is the shadows. I think the shadows are poorly made and they lack of pigmentation. The quality is just not there. I am a bit picky when it comes to eye shadows so maybe it's just me.

I'm thinking of doing this for an EOTD, what do you guys think? :)

Lillium  is a soft baby pink lip and cheek cream. It applies very smoothly and gorgeously pigmented. I've tried using my fingers and a brush to apply it and it works well both ways. This Convertible Color is actually what makes the palette worth it. This palette is nothing but an overly priced crappy eye shadow palette without this Convertible Color. Ohh, I've also tried it on the lips but I think it's a bit drying for the lips.
Molasses  is a shimmery dark brown colour. It is quite smooth but the pigmentation is just okay.
Chill  is a matte nude colour. This shadow is quite pigmented for a matte shadow but applies patchy.
Glisten  is a shimmery peachy nude colour with frost finish. I'm not a big fan of frosty eye shadows but this one is very pretty. It is fairly pigmented but not as soft.
Butterscotch  is a matte medium brown colour. The pigmentation is good but it is kind of patchy but not as bad as Chill.
Ebony  is a matte dark grey almost black colour. This shadow is so disappointing. It looks really beautiful in the palette but when swatched, the pigmentation is just not there. I like my black to be really black, so this one is a let down for me.
Joyful  is a shimmery orangey brown colour. It is well pigmented and applies smoothly.

I was a bit disappointed with the shadows because I expected them to be super pigmented since it's Stila. But I'm still glad that I did purchase this palette because I really love the Convertible Color. Plus it was only RM23++. If I paid the full price for this palette, I'd be really mad.

Love love love the Convertible Color!
Shimmery shadows are quite pigmented
The packaging is small and sleek, great for travelling

The mattes are pretty disappointing, especially Ebony.
The shadows are not good enough for me.

If it is on sale, yes, but I do not recommend you paying full price for this palette. It's just not worth it.

So that's the end of my review. Hope you guys enjoyed the review. Ohh and please stay tuned for a lot more reviews. Thank you so much for reading my blog! <3 p="">

30-Day Writing Challenge: Day 24

It's hard for me to choose only one movie because I have several movies that I really, really love. I love Click and The Notebook so much but I figured I love Seven Pounds the most. I seriously think that Seven Pounds is the best movie I've ever watched. If you never watched it, you should. Watch it now, thank me later. It will change your point of view forever, in a good way though. I'm not going to tell what the movie is about, so don't worry there's not going to be any spoiler in this post.

This movie isn't really a new movie, but it still is better than most movies nowadays. I prefer this kind of movie, something mysterious and you have to watch it till the end to know the whole story. This movie is different, it's unpredictable. I've tried to guess what's going to happen to him but all my guesses were wrong. This movie is a sad movie, and I bet everyone cried watching this movie. It really is a good movie, I've watched it a lot of times, and I cried every single time. It's just so heart-breaking. I found some GIFs on Tumblr, so I decided to include them in this post.

This part, gets me every single time.

And here's my favourite, favourite part of the movie.

It never fails to make me cry. Gosh, I love this movie.

Collective Haul #1

Hello everyone! As you can see, I did a bit of shopping this past month. I actually ordered one other thing but I forgot to include it in the picture. Anyway, keep reading to find out what did I picked up.

1. Foodaholic Masks
RM1 each (not including postage)

If you've followed me on Instagram, you would have seen that I posted a picture of these masks. I've never heard of the brand but it was only RM1 each. My sister and I decided to grab 10 masks for each of us because it was too cheap to resist. I bought these masks at Qoo10. I picked up Coenzyme Q10, Blueberry, Green Gram, Tomato, Collagen, Pomegranate, Green Tea, Olive, Aloe and Grain. Most of them are moisturising masks because my skin is really really dry.

2. Stila Merry & Bright Palette and Lip Glaze Set
£5 or RM23++

I bought this set at ASOS. It was my first time buying things from ASOS. ASOS had a sale and this palette was only £5 so I decided to buy it.

3. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed

$26 or RM80++ (but you can get cheaper price if you buy it from Personal Beauty Shopper)

I won a $30 Tarte Spree Giveway hosted by Personal Beauty Shopper. I'm so happy that I won because I've been wanting to try Tarte blushes for so long, but never had the chance to because I can't afford it. Thank you so much Lilian for picking me as the winner! :) I ended up picking Exposed because I don't have anything like it in my collection. The camera does not pick up the colour correctly (you know I'm bad with camera settings), it is actually more pink in real life. It really is a beautiful blush! Ohh and it comes with a Tarte BB Cream sample which I am also excited about.

4. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze

I finally have bought it. Been wanting it for so long and I'm so happy that they're finally available here!

5. ELF Bronzing Brush

Tati from GlamLifeGuru recommended this brush in one of her videos. She said that this brush is good for highlighting. I'm a big fan of Tati and when she said that this brush is good, I'm sold. Bought this brush from The Fashionette.

6. ELF Total Face Brush

I needed a powder brush and this was only RM7 so I think, why not. But I ended up not using it because it's not soft enough for me. It is too scratchy, I have really sensitive skin so I don't know, this brush is really a waste of money even though it's only RM7. This brush is also from The Fashionette.

7. ELF Small Stipple Brush

I bought this brush because emilynoel83 featured it in her Favourite ELF Brushes video. She said that this brush is perfect for cream blushes and since I needed a brush for my MUA cream blushes, I decided to pick it up. Bought this brush at

8. IN2IT Moisture Release Lipstick in Caramel

Guardian had a clearance sale at Mahkota Parade, Melaka few weeks ago. They had a lot of makeup on sale but I only bought this lipstick at the sale. This is not really my colour as it is darker and I usually prefer neutral lips but hey, a girl can never have too much lipsticks right? :P

9. Maybelline Color Sensational Lipcolor in Party Pink
RM20 something (not sure)

I won this lipstick in a giveaway by Thanks Only Beauty! :)

10. Revlon Lip Butter in Peach Parfait

I wanted to try a lip butter to see if it's worth the hype, and well, it does.

11. Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar in Juicy Orange

If you love korean beauty product, go check out Qoo10 because the prices there are much cheaper than the retail prices here. I've bought from 3 different sellers at Qoo10 and so far, I'm happy with all the products and services. I picked up this Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar because the packaging is really cute. The product itself is pretty good too!

13. Coastal Scents Classic Blush Angle Large Natural Brush

I needed a proper blush brush because I have been using my Elianto Kabuki Brush (it is one of my first brushes) to apply blush. I saw selling this brush for only RM19 and I thought it was a great deal. I did some research before buying it because well, I don't want to waste my money like I did with the ELF brushes. Turns out, this brush is a really great brush. The bristles are really soft and the brush doesn't feel cheap at all. What I love the most is that it has long handle because it gives you more control when applying blush.

So that's the end of my haul. I hope you guys enjoy the post and stay tuned because I'm going to review most of the products mentioned above. Thank you so much for reading my blog! :)
